On Dr. Cornel West And Our Shared 'Twistedness': In response to the ongoing 'drama' between Reverend Al Sharpton and Dr. Cornel West
Aside from the fact that just about every African American, including myself, comes out somewhat 'twisted' for living the American 'experienze', Dr. Cornel West is certainly no exception. We all know of other black people who are afflicted with the 'twistedness' in varying degrees. Having recognized it in ourselves at an early age, we learn to keep it tamed and not let it interfere with our pursuit of a somewhat happy life that is allowed us. That Dr. West' 'twistedness' seems so loud is due to the celebrity he chose to cloak upon himself. Despite this, he has important things to say; and not all that he says has to be right, normal, status quo, main stream, or whatever. It is our right to go with his flow, or divert our own boats. But he still is a Brother, whom we must love and embrace, and keep in the fold; just as we do with all our other twisted brothers and sisters, family members, husbands, wives, children, lovers, ourselves, and yes, the Reverend Al Sharpton too. It's called 'surviving', and "overcoming", in this purgatory, named America!

My Sandy Casualty - Yikes!
I woke up this morning to this. Yikes! I immediately thought of those folks in NYC, especially in lower Manhattan, and counted my Blessings. Oh well, time to call my roofer. Mo money...mo money...mo money.
